How I didn’t see this till half an hour ago I don’t know.

It’s based on a Ford Fiesta ST1 with a Mountune package upgraded suspension, etc... turning the regular STs 179bhp to 197bhp with a top overboost of 212-215bhp. The ride is lowered 20mm and stiffened without being too firm making the car feel well planted on the road. Basic price for an ST1 is £17,995 and with all the M-Sport tweaks it tops out at around £21,600. Which isn’t bad against it’s rivals the Renault Trophy and the Peugeot 208GTi.

EDIT:

Specs

The most exciting upgrades however can be found under the bonnet. The 1.6 EcoBoost direct injection engine comes complete with a Mountune MP215 upgrade which retains the factory warranty and delivers 215 PS at 6,000 rpm as well as 320 Nm at 3,000 rpm.

The Ford IB6 gearbox also features a Quaife ATB limited slip differential for improved traction and OZ Superturismo LM 7x17" ET42 light alloy wheels in matt graphite complete the package.

Further options are available for those who desire the ultimate edition including an optional ‘Handling Pack’ with Bilstein inverted mono tube struts and Eibach Pro springs for improved handling.

An optional brake upgrade featuring Alcon callipers, 332mm discs and Goodridge braided brake hoses is also available as well as an M-Sport cold air induction system with Pipercross high flow foam filter.

A modified exhaust is also available with a custom-made rear silencer from Chris Tullett Exhausts – the firm who supply the exhausts for the rally-winning Fiesta RS WRC.”

I don’t dig it, you could the same with a mountune remap (whilst keeping the warranty) and a set of very good coilovers and still be up on cash.

Ooooo offset graphics. So 90s too. Not bad, not bad.

I wonder how Falken feels about it though.

The graphics are subtle but not too subtle.

With the M-Sport Transit.

I actually quite like it.

That transit up top I need. I’ve always liked the transit, how fun would it be to set one up for cornering and take it to an autox?

The answer is, very fun.

So, it’s a diff, a tune and wheels for the £21k. it’s pushing it at that. I’m not a tight northerner, but it’s a little too rich for how Ford should have made it out of the box. Peugeot offer an LSD and Vauxhall have for years.

The Transit hasn’t had any engine tweaks and is a standard 2.2TDCi.

But if the Transit is too big then there is also the Transit Connect.

I wonder if there is anything in the works for the smaller Transit, the Courier.

I’m a tight northerner though (M-Sport is 25 miles down the road).

For £4,000 over the standard ST1 I recon it’s a good deal for what Ford should of done to make a Fiesta RS. Some options are on top of the £21,600 price.

Wow, you guys across the pond always get the good ford stuff. There’s only a transit here, no courier or transit connect, as far as I know.

We (‘Murica) actually had the Connect for years before they brought the full size transit over. Pretty sure the Connect is still sold here.

You guys get the big Transit and the Transit Connect but you don’t get the Transit Custom or Transit Courier.

The Custom falls between the big Transit and the Connect where the Courier falls between the Connect and the Fiesta van.

With regards the M-Sport vehicles. M-Sport is based in Dovemby Hall just outside Cockermouth just 25 miles from me. Where all M-Sport Ford Fiestas and Focus rally cars are made along with the racing Bentleys (such as the one which crashed the other day).

We get the Connect in the US, in wagon(passenger), and van(cargo) form. We obviously don’t get a diesel version though, just a 2.0, or 1.6 ecoboost.

They sell a Fiesta panel van? That's too cool. It was already bad enough that we don't get a two door.
